Kristin Guppy

Optometrist

I was born and raised in Brisbane, Queensland. I was inspired to study optometry by my uncle who practised in Townsville. He told me “Have a job that involves talking to people – people’s stories are always interesting”. I studied optometry at Queensland University of Technology and then moved to Tasmania for my first job. A beautiful state but a little cold for a Queenslander! I later moved to Melbourne which I also loved but was a little too big and busy. I moved to Adelaide in 1999 and haven’t looked back. I love my job because I find eyes fascinating and I enjoy problem solving. And my uncle was right – peoples stories are interesting. Outside of work I enjoy jogging and I am also trying to learn to surf… trying being the operative word!!

Kelly O'Brien

Optometrist

I completed my Optometry degree in 1998 and moved from Brisbane back to my home town of Adelaide. After receiving a scholarship from OPSM whilst studying, I worked for them at various locations for seven years. Duncan Barnett then offered me a job I couldn’t refuse and so began my time at Bridge Eye Care. Two children later and after some time spent working in Adelaide, I am now proud to return to Bridge Eye Care as a co-owner and consulting Optometrist three days a week.  When not at work, I enjoy keeping fit and spending time with my family and friends. ‘Meeting truly interesting people and facing challenges, both in business and related to people’s eyes, is what I look forward to every day’

Andrew Nordstrum

Optometrist

Hi, I’m Andrew, and I’m excited to join Kristin and Kelly as the new optometrist at Bridge Eye Care. I’ve spent the last few years working in beautiful Busselton in WA, but being a South Australian native, the call to return home was too strong. I’m really excited to work within a rural community, which is really challenging from a work perspective, but the opportunity to get to know people and help them is what drew me to Bridge Eye Care. In my spare time, I love being outdoors and going to the beach. I even manage to sneak in a round of golf after work most weeks up here in the Bridge. Looking forward to meeting you all. I already feel welcome and part of the team.

Tanya Clothier

Practice Manager

I have lived in the Murray Bridge area for almost long enough to be called a local. My children were born here and we all love the life that goes with living in a rural town. Anyone who knows me is either a patient or a netball competitor because, apart from my kids, these are my two favourite things. I have met some of the friendliest people in the twelve years of working at Bridge Eye Care. I love my work and helping people to be able to see and look better, but you can’t beat the look on the face of a small child when they put on their glasses for the first time and see what they have been missing. And that’s why I go to work each day…
