It’s important to have children’s eyes tested regularly as many problems can be detected early and therefore treated more easily. One in five children have an undetected vision problem and many try to adapt without realising they should be able to see better. How clearly a child sees, how well their eyes work together, how easily their focussing system works, all will play a role in not only their educational development, but also their social and physical development.
When To Test
We recommend a child have their first eye examination before they commence school. The Optometrist will be able to recommend how frequently they should be examined thereafter. With regular eye checks and expert advice, you can help your child achieve their best vision and potentially avoid a permanent visual disability.
