Little people's eyes matter
CHILDREN'S VISION
Regular eye examinations are essential for children, as many vision problems can be detected early and treated more effectively. One in five children have an undiagnosed vision issue, and many adapt without realising they should be seeing more clearly. How well a child sees, how their eyes work together, and how easily their focusing system functions all play a vital role in their educational, social, and physical development.
When To Test
We recommend children have their first eye examination before starting school. Your Optometrist will advise how often they should be reviewed based on their age, visual needs, and any identified risk factors. With consistent eye checks and expert guidance, you can support your child’s best vision and help prevent long‑term visual difficulties.
Early Detection Matters
Vision is central to reading, learning, and classroom confidence. Our child‑friendly eye exams assess focusing ability, eye teaming, prescription changes, and early signs of myopia. Because many children don’t realise their vision is blurry, regular testing helps identify issues before they affect school performance or self‑esteem. If your child is squinting, rubbing their eyes, or struggling with reading, an eye exam can provide clarity and support their learning.
